STEAM Education in Early Childhood Development
STEAM Education is a modern, globally recognized teaching approach implemented from pre-primary to higher education. It integrates the latest teaching methodologies to develop 21st-century skills in children. The objective of pre-primary education is to foster holistic child development with 21st century skills and spiritual well-being.
Over the past few years, the IPFCD project has carried out numerous programs to enhance the capabilities of preschool teachers in implementing STEAM education and modern teaching methodologies within the ECCD sector. With the support of foreign specialists, several lecture series have been conducted to equip teachers with theoretical knowledge and practical strategies for integrating STEAM into their classrooms.
Additionally, the IPFCD project has focused on incorporating STEAM education and modern teaching methods into preschool curricula. Lesson plans, daily schedules, and weekly activity plans have been developed to help teachers implement STEAM-based learning effectively at the classroom level.
Preschool teachers across the country have successfully integrated STEAM education into their daily teaching activities. They have creatively applied modern educational techniques learned through the IPFCD project to empower children with 21st-century skills.
Online Learning and Collaboration Platform
To showcase teachers’ performances and students’ achievements, an online platform—the Facebook group “STEAM Education in South Asian Countries”—was created. This group serves as a collaborative learning space where ECCD teachers can share their activities, learn from each other, and exchange best practices to strengthen early childhood education in South Asia.
